Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. Final-year students are also eligible to apply but must submit proof of completion of their degree at the time of interview.

Age Limit (as of 1st April 2025)

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years
    Age relaxation is applicable as per the government rules:
  • OBC: 3 years
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • PwD candidates: 10 years

Job Role and Responsibilities

As a Probationary Officer in a public sector bank, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day banking operations
  • Customer service: Handling customer queries and providing information about banking products.
  • Loan and credit management: Assisting in loan processing, credit analysis, and sanctioning loans.
  • Supervising and training staff: Managing junior employees and conducting internal training sessions.
  • Branch management: Supervising and ensuring smooth functioning of bank branches.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to bank policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Salary & Benefits

The IBPS PO salary varies by the bank but typically ranges from ₹23,000 to ₹35,000 per month, including basic pay and allowances. In addition to the basic pay, employees are eligible for:

Selection Process

The IBPS PO 2025 selection process consists of three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination (Prelims)

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for every wrong answer

  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

3. Interview

Candidates who clear the Prelims and Mains exams will be called for the personal interview. The interview will assess:

  • Communication skills

  • Knowledge of banking and current affairs
